The Science of Strength Scaling
Linear Ratio (Grip / Weight): Assumes muscle force scales 1:1 with body mass. This favors lighter individuals. If a 60kg person grips 60kg (Ratio 1.0), a 120kg person must grip 120kg (Ratio 1.0) to match them. Biologically, this is nearly impossible due to volume-to-mass scaling rules.
Allometric Scaling (Grip / Weight2/3): Adjusts force relative to calculated muscle cross-sectional area. It allows biologically fair comparisons across different weight classes. The formula used is:
